This year’s Journey of Hope charm was unveiled on Friday October 22 at the Moonlight and Miracles Gala.
The 2010 charm is the third in a series designed by Hingham Jewelers co-owner Stacey Page as a symbol of hope for cancer care patients at South Shore Hospital.
The charms can be purchased at Hingham Jewelers for $45, and all proceeds go towards cancer care at South Shore Hospital.

February: Amethyst
Amethyst, the gemstone believed by ancient Greeks and Romans to ward off the intoxicating powers of Bacchus, also is said to keep the wearer clear-headed and quick-witted. Throughout history, the gemstone has been associated with many myths, legends, religions, and numerous cultures. English regalia were even decorated with amethysts during the Middle Ages to symbolize royalty.
