Hingham Jewelers, a premiere jeweler south of Boston, is in search of a part-time Retail Sales Professional. No jewelry experience is necessary but exceptional customer service skills, the ability to multi-task, and a positive attitude are required.

Responsibilities would include all aspects of selling fine jewelry, watches and gifts along with basic store maintenance.

Benefits are available and store hours are also convenient:

Tuesday-Saturday: 10:00-5:00
Wednesday: 10:00-6:00

Closed Sunday and Monday

For your shopping convenience, Hingham Jewelers will open at 9:30 AM on Saturday May 12. We will close at our normal 5:00 PM.

Appraisals In-Store: May 23

Hingham Jewelers is pleased to offer jewelry appraisals while you wait on designated days. Appraisals for pieces which were not purchased at our store are done by an independent Graduate Gemologist.

As he appraises your items, you are invited to sit with him, watch the process, and ask any questions you may have. The final appraisal will include pictures, measurements and grades of any gem stones, along with detailed information about the mounting and metals used in the piece.

It is important to know that appointments with the appraiser must be made in advance, so please call us to schedule an appointment.

New Contemporary Vintage Look for Refreshed Ring

Sometimes it is easy to cast aside jewelry that is old, or in disrepair. One customer recently came into HJ with a ring that had been missing a diamond for over a year! While discussing the possibility of replacing the missing diamond, the customer mentioned that it may be time for a design update anyway.

We had a consultation with her to assess the ring, pictured at left. The center stone is a marquis, which can be difficult to alter the appearance of. However, our Goldsmith had plenty of ideas to bring life back to the ring.

She decided to update the ring by adding micropave around the center stone to soften the angles. She also added stones to the shank. The addition of the small stones and the plate they were set into gave the stone a rounder look.

Since the client is active, we didn’t want the stone to sit too high, as to avoid unnecessary contact. However, we also wanted the ring to handle light well so it could play up the beauty of the stone.

The final product (bottom left image) produced a very contemporary, vintage look that was amazing. The client’s long, slender fingers added to the beauty, and the ring work fabulously with her other bands.

Free Refurbishing at Lagos Trunk Show

Join us on Saturday March 24 for a Lagos trunk show! All of the latest styles and designs from Lagos will be on display.

Anyone who purchases a piece of Lagos at the trunk show will get an added benefit: a free refurbishing of an older Lagos piece! That’s a $100 value, and will make your older pieces look like new again.

On Wednesday February 29 we will host a Spa Day. We invite you to bring in your jewelry to have it inspected and cleaned at no charge.

For a small fee, our Goldsmith will polish your jewelry to make it look like new! For this special Leap Year Spa Day, dig through the jewelry box. When you polish 4 rings, we’ll polish a 5th at no additional charge!

We will be open from 10-6 PM, as usual, on the 29th.
