In 2008, Hingham Jewelers owner Stacey Page designed a charm to be sold as a fundraiser for South Shore Hospital’s Moonlight and Miracles Gala, an event that supports the hospital’s new Cancer Care center.
She designed another charm in 2009, which was debuted at the 2009 Moonlight and Miracles Gala. Of the 600 attendees, over 300 female Gala guests received the charm as a gift.
A third charm was designed in 2010, which also debuted at the annual Gala.
A limited number of the charms are sold at Hingham Jewelers. All proceeds from the charm go directly to South Shore Hospital’s new Cancer Care program.

May: Emerald
As the birthstone for May, the emerald, a symbol of rebirth, is believed to grant the owner foresight, good fortune, and youth. Emerald, derived from the word smaragdus, meaning green in Greek, was mined in Egypt as early as 330 B.C.
