While the pandemic has caused many changes to our lives, it has also brought a renewed commitment to love. Couples have been brought closer together by COVID-19, weathering major challenges as one. And that love continues to be celebrated with a wave of engagements.
Here are the top three trends we’re seeing this fall when it comes to engagement rings.
Back to Classics
In the last 6 months we’ve seen a return to classic styles.
Couples are drawn to tried and true shapes, like round brilliant cut diamonds, and emerald cut diamonds. These are being set in elegant and timeless solitaire settings, showing off the center stone’s exquisite sparkle.
Starting Bigger
Without question, couples are investing in larger center stones for their engagement ring.
While in years past some couples have started off with a small stone, with the plan to upgrade in the future, couples are starting off bigger right off the bat. We’re seeing particular interest in center stones in the 1.5-2 ct. range.
Alternative Stones
We’ve also seen a real interest in alternative stones in engagement rings.
Sapphire is the most popular alternative stone at Hingham Jewelers right now, with customers opting for a pop of color. We’re sourcing blue, teal, and even purple sapphires for our clients.
We’re also still seeing interest in lab-grown diamonds. While chemically the same as a natural diamond, the price point is significantly lower, allowing clients to get a bigger look for a smaller price tag.
We’d love to work with you to create the perfect engagement ring for your loved one.
We encourage you to start by building your dream ring online, or setting up an appointment with a member of our team to create a ring in person.
