Ring sizing changes with time. Weight fluctuations, seasonal changes, pregnancy, and aging all affect finger size, and a ring that fit perfectly at the time of purchase may no longer be comfortable years later. At Hingham Jewelers, our ring resizing service handles both sizing up and sizing down across yellow gold, white gold, rose gold, and platinum, and we size rings up or down by multiple sizes when the design allows for it. Before any resizing work is done, we assess the ring in person. Some designs, including eternity bands with stones around the full circumference, tension settings, and certain patterned shanks, require special approaches or may not be resizable through standard methods. We will let you know upfront what is possible and what the most appropriate approach is for your specific piece. We also check the integrity of the entire ring during the sizing process, tightening stones and addressing any other wear we notice while the piece is with us. Ring sizing is one of our most common services, and we handle it with the same care as every other piece on our bench.
