An anniversary is a perfect time to upgrade a diamond. One of the biggest decisions, however, isn't how much to upgrade, but what to do with an original stone that very often holds a lot of sentimental value.
That was the struggle for one of our customers, who recently came in ahead of his 25th wedding anniversary. He wanted to upgrade his wife’s diamond, while still preserving her original stone.
After meeting with our design specialist, we decided the best course of action would be to take the original diamond and bezel set it into a necklace.
Then, for the ring, we modified the original engagement setting to accommodate a diamond twice the original size.
This combination allowed for a well-deserved ring refresh, while also maintaining the history and love tied to the original diamond.
