It happens. As styles and preferences change, your jewelry box can fill with piece you no longer wear.
Remember, jewelry is an investment. Just because you don't love how something looks in its current form doesn't mean it never needs to see the light of day again. You can use elements of those pieces to craft something brand new that you love.
A customer recently came in after rummaging through her jewelry box. She found a series of rings, bands, and necklaces that she no longer wore.
Our design specialist had a lot to work with. While the customer saw pieces of jewelry she didn't love, our designer saw a trove of stones waiting for a new home.
By using both sketches, and CAD software, she devised a plan to create two new rings for the customer.
The first is a one-of-a-kind free form, criss cross ring. The 14k yellow and white gold ring used one of the customer's diamonds in a new bezel setting. We also used 26 of the customer's other small diamonds to accent the main stone. That's right, we used more than TWO DOZEN of the customer's stones to make this one new ring.
We also used her stones to create a second ring. Again it features the customer's own stone in the center, with a halo of small diamonds around it. It's finished with rope edging.
This is such a great example of 'recycling' your jewelry into something new and exciting, without having to buy something brand new.
