As we head in to yet another holiday season I always get asked what the new “hot” item is. That is a hard question to answer.
If I had to pick one area to focus on it would be the wrists. People are now stacking their wrists like they have been their necks.
There seem to be two kinds of bracelet lovers.
One is the “everyday” stack. These bracelet lovers literally have a uniform of bracelets they wear every day. Occasionally they will add to their beloved stack but the combination does not change daily.
Then there are those (myself included) who change the stack every day based on her mood and wardrobe. They are always looking for something to offer a bit more pop. Now, don’t get me wrong, those of us who change the stack everyday have their favorites, but also find it very easy and satisfying to add a little something extra to it to make the stack always look current.
I know I have said it multiple times, but investing in a piece of fine jewelry is very prudent. With the proper care these pieces can be worn and enjoyed for multiple generations.
The other area we are seeing going gangbusters is custom design. People are updating their older pieces to make them more stylish and reflect their current style. Do you have pieces you aren’t wearing? It is time to pull them out and make something you will love. It makes sense and is a great form of recycling.
The other area I see beginning to expand is statement earrings. Although some still prefer the minimalist look the pendulum is swinging and we are seeing a strong return to larger hoops and dangles.
