Many of our custom jewelry designs start with family pieces that hold sentimental value, but are in need of a style refresh.
That’s how this recent projected started.
Our client came to us with two sapphire and diamond rings that were both passed down through the family. She liked the concept of a sapphire and diamond ring, but she wanted to combine the two rings into one.
She also wanted to rework the stones into a design that fit her style. Our design team went to work, brainstorming different options that would fit her stones. We settled on a white gold ring design that would really accentuate the stone’s shapes.
The two largest stones, a square blue sapphire and a round blue sapphire, were placed near the center.
Then, on each side of the sapphires we placed two round diamonds. We kept the diamonds and sapphires together, based on which original ring they came out of.
The two diamonds closest to the square sapphire were from the first ring, and the two diamonds closest to the round sapphire were from the second ring.
Around each stone we included a touch of milgrain beading for extra enhancement.
The client was truly overwhelmed when she saw the final project—she cried when she picked up the ring!
