Some of the most sentimental jewelry is passed down from parents. And once those parents are gone, the significance of the pieces grows.
One woman recently came in to our store with several pieces just like that.
She had her parents’ original wedding bands, and a charm that her father had given her mother.
The client wanted to create a piece that used all of those items, so she could wear it every day.
Our design team worked with her to propose a necklace. The new piece would include her father’s band on the outside, with her mother’s smaller band tucked inside. This gives the look of two concentric circles. Then, to finish the piece, we set the pink tourmaline that had been gifted to her mother.
The bail on top of the necklace, allowing it to slip onto a chain, was made from scrap gold that the client had from some other pieces.
The end result is a lovely, custom made keepsake that incorporates three pieces from her parents. It can be worn and enjoyed daily, reminding her of loved ones.
