Trying to get married during the COVID-19 pandemic has been a major challenge. With so many couples moving their wedding dates from 2020 to 2021, or even 2022, it can be a daunting task trying to coordinate logistics.
That includes wedding bands.
Here are some of the most common questions we’re getting regarding wedding bands during the pandemic.
When Should We Purchase our Wedding Bands?
Hands down, the number one thing most couples want to know is when they should even think about wedding bands. We recommend selecting your wedding bands about 3 months before your wedding date.
While we have many wedding bands ready to select in the store at all times, most wedding bands are ordered to a meet a couple’s specifications.
Some of those bands, like a traditional comfort-fit style, can be ordered and ready for pick-up in a matter of days.
For more intricate bands, like diamond eternity bands, it can take 1-2 months to order and create.
Should My Wedding Band be Eternity?
Many brides-to-be want at least some diamonds on their wedding band.
Deciding if those diamonds go half-way around, or all the way around, can be a big decision.
There are both style and pricing considerations to think about.

Should I Pick a Contemporary Metal Wedding Band?
While precious metal wedding bands, like gold or platinum, remain most popular, many grooms are thinking about contemporary metal bands, featuring things like titanium.
These bands are durable, and much less expensive, but there are some downsides to think about. Read more about that here.
At Hingham Jewelers, many of the precious metal men’s wedding bands we offer actually come with a free titanium sports band as well. This is the best of both worlds. The future-husband has a classic, precious metal band to wear most days, but also has the option to wear a more durable, less expensive band while working in the yard, or on vacation.
