Jewelry is very sentimental.
That’s particularly true during the pandemic. Clients are eager to custom make jewelry that’s meaningful for them, and will bring them joy during a difficult year.
During one recent custom project, a client wanted to create three stacking rings.
Two of the three rings would be diamond guard bands. To craft those two rings, we used diamonds from a bracelet that the client no longer wore.
Our Goldsmith removed the diamonds from the bracelet, and re-set them into the two bands.
Those two bands were designed to sit on either side of the stack’s focal point, a center band that represented the couple’s four children. We used eight stones in that band, two for each child’s birthstone.
That resulted in 6 blue topaz, representing December birthdays, and two pink tourmaline, representing an October birthday.
The end result was beautiful. Not only were we able to use diamonds from a piece that was unworn, and sitting in a jewelry box, but we did so to create a piece that represents everything that’s important in life: family.
